Even though we are used to seeing the other guys being “Green with Envy”, the executives at Verasoft have decided that being green needs to mean more. So, we have quickly adopted a new program to help further emphasize our commitment to the environment and worldwide sustainability.
In these past few years during the technological boom, high-tech firms have become one of the leading sources of harmful greenhouse gases. A few highlights of our inaugural efforts are as follows:
- Reward companies offering the latest advancements in environmentally friendly equipment with our business
- Promote equipment to our customers meeting the Energy Star 4.0 guidelines
- Acceptance of the Energy Star challenge
- Commit to design powerful solutions to create paperless work environments, such as our innovative nDorse™ technology
- Require all developments to utilize advanced query and processing logic to reduce load, bandwidth, and energy and cooling requirements of servers, as we have already done with our popular applications like KEOP™, KORVUE®, MEDVUE™, MortgageCRM™, PurplePOS™, PrimeCRM™, SourceAll™, and TeleTrak™
- Communicate environmentally friendly tidbits to our employees
- Encourage tele-commuting and car-pooling where possible
- Provide a $100 bonus check to employees that purchase energy efficient electronic or hybrid automobiles
- Offer a $5,000 check annually to the Verasoft employee who shows the greatest personal commitment toward global green initiatives through an essay/interview process
- Ensure that all company owned laptops, desktops and servers are configured to meet the optimal energy efficiency standards
- We are now an active member of the Climate Savers Smart Computing Initiative
- Adopt the most efficient forms of recycling including equipment disposal, office waste, all the way to the personal products we consume
- Equip the facilities that we own with energy efficient lighting solutions, encourage the landlords of the facilities we lease to do the same
Our goal is to make this a core principle of our modus operandi, by controlling that which we have control over and by influencing action in the areas we do not.
